The Mafia in Manincor: Il Pastore and his friends

In the spring of 2020, as so often in the past, Tobias Moretti, a friend of the house, visited Manincor, this time accompanied by film director Andreas Prochaska. He came with the script for a TV movie about the wine mafia and the plan to obtain permission to shoot the film in Manincor. The outcome of the visit was that Manincor found itself in the role of the South Tyrolean Trojer Winery.
A challenging detail: the dates chosen for the shoot coincided with the most critical time of the year at Manincor, namely the grape harvest. As a result one script soon became two: one for the film and one for the winery.
Our film director was Anita Crepaz, Manincor’s assistant to the management with experience of the film industry. The two teams accepted their role as partners and worked with great mutual consideration and discipline. It was a challenging operation nevertheless.
What we can reveal in advance about the film: The working title is “Il Pastore”, and the first TV screening will be in the autumn of 2021. The story revolves around the winemaking couple Matteo (Tobias Moretti) and Stefania (Ursina Lardi), their daughter Laura (Antonia Moretti) and the winemaker Albert Psenner (Gerhard Liebmann). The grape harvest is interrupted by the arrival of old friends, Matteo’s “family” from his youth in the south of Italy.
Be sure not to miss the film! If only for the pleasure of discovering familiar details of Manincor.
