Moscato Giallo – Fresh grapes in a glass.
After all, we’re supposed to have fruit and vegetables five times a day. Our bright, aromatic Golden Muscat made from sun-drenched grapes – at the right temperature – is pure joy!
Grape variety: Goldmuskateller (Muscat). – Colour: bright straw yellow. – Aroma and flavour: delicate scents of nutmeg, cedarwood and grapefruit; fruity, succulent with a mineral character and a persistent aroma. – Site and soil: “Mazzon” near Kaltern at an altitude of 350 m above sea level, a very steep, south-facing mountainside vineyard exposed to intense sunlight with warm, gravely, morainal soils. The “Vogelleiten” site in the Manincor estate, likewise an extremely steep slope with soils consisting of clay and limestone gravel. – Winemaking: grapes were de-stemmed and left to macerate in the press for twelve hours to enrich the juice with aroma substances and body leached from the skins. Fermentation took place in oak, partially with yeasts naturally occurring in the vineyard. The young wine was subsequently matured on the fine lees for four months to enable the aromas and flavour to evolve. – Serving suggestions: enjoy lightly chilled, 46 – 50 °F. – Delicious as an aperitif, with oriental dishes and strong-tasting hard cheeses.
