The new wine estate report
The current wine estate report!
Once a year we sum up the news and events of the past year. We choose contents and subject matter which have especially engaged or concerned us over the year from a long list. To read and to order.
Dear friends of Manincor! Time flies! Twenty years ago, in 1996, my wife Sophie and I took the bold step of going public with our own wine. Before that – following my enological training, internships and work experience in the world of wine – I had produced small volumes of wine on an experimental basis to gage the potential of our vineyards.
Today we produce over 300,000 bottlesof the finest wine – with a deeply convinced commitment to wine-growing on the basis of biodynamic principles.
Some years ago, we and various winegrowers from Austria established a biodynamic winemaking group called “respekt”, which stands for outstanding quality deriving from sustainable and holistic methods of working. In the meantime other producers have joined us, including some from Germany. 2015 was an extremely exciting and good vintage for us. The focussed work we have done in the last few years has not gone unrewarded. In addition to nine other wine awards, we are particularly proud of having been chosen for the special award as “Sustainable Winery of the Year” by Gambero Rosso.
If you can, be sure to visit us again in Manincor and see just how much we have done in the meantime. We look forward to seeing you!
